Lindsay Lohan’s New Lawyer: “She Is Suffering From A Disease “

Lindsay Lohan’s new lawyer officially stepped forward today—and made sure everyone knew he wasn’t taking the job to enable anymore ridiculous excuses.

“I have agreed to represent Ms. Lohan on the condition that she complies with all of the terms of her probation, including a requirement of jail time that was imposed by Judge Marsha Revel,” Robert Shapiro said in a statement to E! News.

“Ms. Lohan is suffering from a disease that I am all too familiar with. Hopefully, I can be of assistance to Ms. Lohan and Judge Revel in implementing a treatment approach recommended by medical professionals for Ms. Lohan’s long term recovery and sobriety.”

Shapiro filed the paperwork to replace former Lohan lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley today in Los Angeles Superior Court.

The O.J. Dream Teamer lost son Brent to an overdose and has dedicated himself to helping substance abusers. Earlier this week, Lohan checked into the Shapiro-run sober house, Pickford Lofts.

She is due to surrender next Tuesday to begin a 90-day jail term followed by 90 days of rehab.

Lohan, meanwhile, has kept mum on her current situation. The only missives from her have come in the form of a couple fashion-related tweets and a statement she released via the Norton antivirus folks reminding inquiring minds to stay away from shady-looking links.

“I know I am very newsworthy, especially with everything going on and I’d hate to see my current situation cause frustration or damage to my fans,” she said Thursday. “If my friends and fans want to know what’s going on with me, they need to stick to reliable news media outlets and not click on just any link in a search result. Better yet, please follow my Twitter feed and get the news straight from me!”

Acccording to Norton, you should watch out when you type in the search terms, “Lindsay Lohan jail,” “Lilo in prison” or “Lohan sentence,” because some spyware-planting, ID-stealing, spamming virus-monger could be waiting on the other side.

More Pot Problems for Paris Hilton… In Paris?

Where’s that friend to take the fall when you need one—again?

For the second time this month, reports are running rampant that the jetsetting Paris Hilton was detained by policeafter being caught with marijuana. Only this time, the heiress was reportedly making her way from her namesake city to the French island of Corsica when police discovered less than a gram of pot in her purse.

According to AFP, authorities are said to have briefly held Hilton in custody, releasing her without filing charges.

So what’s the deal? Thanks to Twitter (and our reliable Miss H. sources), we’re once again privy to matters of the heart rumored dope ordeals…

Echoing the sentiments of our Paris source (“That is a rumor. It never happened.”), Hilton denied all reports of pot possession early Saturday morning via tweet.

“So sick of people making up rumors about me,” she wrote angrily. “The latest one about me is completely false too. Don’t believe what you read. Silly nonsense.”

But fret not, because Paris isn’t letting this “nonsense” get her down.

Tweeting from Sardinia, Italy, where our source confirms Paris is currently vacationing, the innocent (?) lady reassured fans that all is A-OK: “Another beautiful day, about to go jump in the ocean and do some jet skiing! Loves it! Life is beautiful! I love Summer Time!”

Romance Report : Glee costars… JUST FRIENDS!

We’ll get to the Britney Spears episode of Glee in a second, but first we’re gonna let series star Jenna Ushkowitz set something straight.

She is not dating costar Kevin McHale.

“They were bound to happen, right?” Ushkowitz said about the romance rumors the other night at the Amanda Foundation’s Patterns for Paws fundraiser. “We’re all best friends. It would be little incestuous [and] a little weird. But we’re all so close that we figure anything will come out.”

Now for the Spears episode…

“I’m very excited,” Ushkowitz said. “She was my idol.”

In other words, she’d be happy no matter what Britney hit she gets to sing. “Anything of her old school would be fantastic, like ‘Hit Me Baby One More Time,’ or ‘Oops, I Did it Again,’” she said.

While Spears won’t be appearing on the show, Ushkowitz says they haven’t been told anything definite regarding reports about Javier Bardem or Katie Holmes making appearances. “We don’t believe anything until it’s on paper,” she said.

Her wish guest these days? “Hugh Jackman,” she gushed. “He’d be a good contender for Matt Morrison.”
